The Asthma Society of Ireland runs an up to date e-learning programme for health care professionals covering all aspects of asthma care and management.

Notice regarding status of E-Learning Programme for Healthcare Professionals:

At this time, the Asthma E-Learning Programme for Healthcare Professionals is being updated to encompass changes outlined in the recently published GINA guidelines (2017) and to incorporate a paediatric module. As the course material is currently under revision, new registrants are advised that enrolment has been closed until the launch of the revised programme.

In order for this programme to run smoothly there are a few technical requirements that your computer must meet:

  • A working computer with Internet connection (broadband or wireless)

  • Speakers or headphones to hear the presentation

  • A web browser installed – we recommend Mozilla Firefox www.mozilla.com (for a free download) and Google Chrome www.google.com/chrome (for a free download)

  • Adobe Flash Player needs to be installed if you do not have it on your system, there is a free download herehttp://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

  • Adobe Reader needs to be installed if you do not have it on your system, there is a free download here ehttp://get.adobe.com/reader

At present, this educational programme is not accredited with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)

This education programme is accredited for:

  • 6 CPD Credits from ICGP
  • 6 hours of Continuing Education from IPU Academy
