Position: Finance and Compliance Manager
Salary: €65,000 pro rata (4-day week)
Location: 43-44 Amiens Street, D1, with hybrid available and remote working considered
The Asthma Society of Ireland is now seeking a Finance and Compliance Manager ( 4 days per week).
The Asthma Society of Ireland is the voice of asthma in Ireland. We champion change to prevent asthma deaths. The Society supports people with asthma through the provision of services, empowering them to control the condition and providing health promotion programmes. We collaborate with healthcare organisations, we well as healthcare, research, and education professionals to improve our understanding of how asthma works and how to combat it.

About the Role
The Finance and Compliance Manager will play a key role in the management team of the Asthma Society, including leading on the organisation’s financial resilience strategy and implementing required changes. The person will ensure compliance with all Asthma Society policies and work within best practise codes (e.g., Charities Regulator, Charities Institute, SIPO, and IPHA guidelines). The successful candidate will be also responsible for the annual governance plan and ensuring the Asthma Society meets highest transparency and governance standards.
The postholder will be accountable and responsible to the CEO for the finance and compliance function of the Asthma Society of Ireland and will have reporting duties to the Board in respect of these responsibilities. They will provide strategic and operational direction at Executive and Board level on all matters relating to finance, fund management, governance and compliance.
They will at all times maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the Society’s audit, risk and finance committee and auditors, identifying ways to adapt the workings of the Finance and Compliance team to deliver on agreed workflows and project deadlines. The person will be committed to driving financial and governance performance to the highest standards. They will draft all of the finance and compliance related board papers. They will also ensure the financial reporting requirements of the Society’s grant agreements are met.
To succeed in this role, you will have at least 5 years relevant PQE in accounting and operational management of a charity or business. You will have experience of SORP-compliant reporting. You will be a fully qualified member of an internationally recognised accounting body. You will be experienced in reporting to a Board of Directors as required and will be capable of working well with committees and directly with the CEO. You will have a strong track record of leading a team and delivering results.
