Some of the most common local fundraising events are:

Church Gate Collections

In order to collect money outside a church gate you must get the permission from the parish priest or clergyman. In addition to this. you must obtain a permit from the local Gardaí. These permits must be applied for well in advance as many collections happen at the same time each year and are booked out well in advance.

We can apply for the permit on your behalf and we will supply you with any collection buckets, posters and everything else that you will need for the collection.  For all queries regarding church gate collections contact office@asthmasociety.ie or phone the Asthma Society on 01 8178886.

On Street / Public Places

In order to collect in a public place or on the street, you must have permission from the local Gardaí. A permit is easy to obtain but the guidelines must be strictly adhered to. Each district has a unique set of circumstances so it is worth having a conversation with the local Gardaí before you set out.

One of our fundraising revenue streams is our Charitable Lottery Promotion. Let us know well in advance if you are organising a fundraising on-street collection in aid of the Asthma Society. This way, we will be able to co-ordinate with our lottery ticket sellers, ensuring there are not collectors and lottery sellers on the street at the same time. Contact office@asthmasociety.ie or phone 01 8178886.

Bag Packing

The best way to arrange a supermarket back packing day is to approach the manager of the supermarket directly and ask permission to bag pack. The Asthma Society can post you T-shirts to wear with the Asthma Society logo for your bag packing day. Bag packing, a group fundraising activity, is a fun and social way to show your support for a charity and a great way to meet your neighbours and friends. Contact office@asthmasociety.ie or phone 01 8178886.

Create your own fundraising event – anything from a parachute jump to a poker tournament, or from bed pushing to bingo. If you have a fundraising idea we would love to hear from you.
