Over the weekend of the 29th of September, we are running a one of kind experience, our Take a Breath Challenge! With a choice of unique challenges, let's take this time to be present and Take a Breath together.
GLENDALOUGH GUIDED ADVENTURE
Join us on the 30th of September at the Wicklow Mountains for a hike like no other! Not only will you be guided across the beautiful mountains but you will also spend the night out at a wilderness campsite in hammocks, with campfire, a tasty meal under the stars..
We want our adventurers to soak in the beautiful views and take a breath together using examples of simple poses provided here.
This event can take up to 30 people. There will be a €150 registration fee and we're setting each of our adventurers €500 fundraising goal - a nod to the Society’s 50th birthday this year!
At the end of a hike you will receive your Take a Breath Certificate and an impact report on the money you have fundraised for the Asthma Society.

HIKE YOUR WAY
We want you to create your very own breath-taking moment and organise your hike adventure, solo or with a group over the weekend of the 29th of September to the 1st of October. Life is about these moments, so we want everyone to take that time to centre, ground and take stock of their surroundings and support those whose breath is taken away from them.
At the summit of your hike we want you to stop and take a breath using a simple breathing pose (click here for some examples) and share your #takeabreath photo with us. There will be a winner for the best breathing pose photograph announced at the beginning of October with a prize to be won!
At the end of your hiking/fundraising adventure we will provide you with a Certificate and an impact report on your fantastic support. So get involved today!

In Ireland, there are currently 380,000 people with asthma, with 890,000 people likely to have it in their lifetime. We have the 4th highest prevalence rate in the world. Every 8 minutes someone is hospitalised due to asthma complications, and every 5 days someone dies from it. Over 90% of those deaths are preventable. Our goal is to stop asthma deaths by 2030.
