We are calling on people living with asthma – and the healthcare professionals who support them – to take part in two important new surveys focused on the financial impact of managing asthma in 2025.
We know that asthma care can come with a cost – whether it’s paying for medications, attending appointments, or accessing essential supports. These costs may place a significant financial burden on individuals and families, and in some cases, may prevent people from getting the care they need.
As part of our ongoing advocacy and policy work, we’re seeking insights from both patients and healthcare professionals to understand these issues more clearly. The findings from these surveys will directly inform our recommendations to Government on how best to reduce the financial burden of asthma and improve access to care nationwide.
For people with asthma (or their carers)
If you live with asthma or care for someone who does, we want to hear from you. This short, anonymous survey focuses specifically on the financial challenges of managing asthma. Your voice will help us advocate for real change and better support.
For healthcare professionals
We are also inviting GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to share their experiences with asthma patients. How often do financial pressures impact medication adherence or access to appointments? Your professional perspective is crucial in helping us paint a fuller picture.
All responses will be anonymised and not attributed to individuals. While this survey focuses solely on financial barriers, we continue to address other aspects of asthma care through different advocacy channels throughout the year.
Together, we can drive positive change for everyone living with asthma in Ireland. Thank you for your support.
