Many women find their asthma symptoms can get worse or better during pregnancy, so you may need to alter your medicine.
Your asthma treatments are perfectly safe to continue taking during your pregnancy and having your asthma well controlled at this time is good for your baby’s health. It is also safe to take your asthma medication as prescribed while breast-feeding.
Speak to your doctor, nurse or midwife about how you can keep your symptoms under control during pregnancy and labour. This is also a good time to update your Asthma Action Plan or create one with your healthcare professional.
