Fundraising & Communications Committee - Two Voluntary Roles
We are also seeking two experienced professionals to join the Asthma Society of Ireland’s Fundraising & Communications Committee. These are strategic, governance-level roles that provide oversight, guidance, and challenge to support the Society’s fundraising performance, partnerships, and public impact.
Committee members do not assume trustee responsibilities unless separately appointed to the Board.
1. Corporate Sponsorships & Partnerships Expertise
We are particularly interested in candidates with significant experience in securing and managing high-value corporate partnerships. This experience may come from either:
The charity or non-profit sector, or
- Corporate roles such as CSR, ESG, marketing, sponsorship, or commercial partnerships
- Relevant sector experience may include health, pharmaceuticals, consumer brands, leisure, professional services, or related industries.
This role focuses on providing strategic insight into how partnerships contribute to long-term organisational sustainability, brand positioning, and impact.
2. Senior-Level Charity Fundraising Expertise (Health Sector Preferred)
We are also seeking a highly seasoned fundraising professional with extensive experience developing and delivering successful fundraising strategies at senior level.
Expertise may span individual giving, corporate giving, events, philanthropy, or digital fundraising, with a strong preference for health sector experience. This role centres on governance, long-term growth, and strategic oversight rather than operational delivery.
Cross-Cutting Experience
For both Committee roles, we are seeking individuals who understand how fundraising, corporate partnerships, PR, media, and communications intersect to build long-term value, reputation, and impact for a national charity.
At Committee level, this involves providing high-level strategic direction and informed challenge, rather than hands-on execution.
Committee responsibilities
Members of the Fundraising & Communications Committee contribute strategic advice and oversight across:
- Development and annual review of the Fundraising & Communications Strategy
- Review of plans, budgets, performance, and return on investment
- Identification and cultivation of prospective donors or partners
- Support for key donor meetings, partnerships, and public engagement
- Guidance on stakeholder engagement, media, and external communications
- Annual review of Committee effectiveness
Time commitment
- Four scheduled Committee meetings per year (approximately 1.5–2 hours each)
- Occasional additional advisory input or participation in donor or partner meetings
These roles are voluntary and non-remunerated, with an initial term of up to three years (renewable).
Deadline: 19 February
